This pub and restaurant is in the New Town quite close to the city centre. It's a brewpub that brews a number of fruit and other flavoured as well as the standards. Although it is in a modern setting there a several traditional features in this multi-roomed pub.
On entering from Lipová the actual brewery is overlooking the room on the right. There is a large room on the left and further rooms at the back of the pub up a few stairs.
They brew two classic Czech lagers, a light and a dark, along with five flavoured beers and, on the occasion of our visit, two specials.
This is what they offered: Klasický Český Ležak Světlý (Light) and Klasický Český Ležak Tmavý (dark) are the classics.
The five flavoured were: Pšeničné (Wheat), Kávové (coffee), Banánove (Banana), Višňové (Sour Cherry), and Koprívové (Nettle).
The two specials were: Abbey 17% and Brown Ale.
I was with fellow imbiber Russell and, being cowards when it comes to beers like some of the above, we settled for a light and a dark from the standard range. Both were extremely good.
The brewery opened in 1998 and the pub is well renowned for its beer and food. Have a look at the photographs to get an idea of the atmosphere.
